Sunrise 20091121

Great reason to be an early riser... catch the magnificent results of being given both the right type and right positioning of pre-dawn clouds, seen in early twilight and post-rise viewes in this composite... great fun!! (individually... twilight view and post-rise view)

Nothing speaks as powerfully to life's opportunity as a sunrise, and I am drawn to witness and record them.

wonderful photos! one morning can be a source of many different scenes - well captured!

@DarkElf: Thanks, DE! You're so right... a given morning, especially when the sky is really "working," can serve up a wide variety of interesting looks... making it hard to pick just one or two to post. ;-) Thanks for stopping by!

@Susan: This location is only a few blocks from my home, behind an small, old mall called South Hills Mall. I used to use it only as a back-up venue, but I'm starting to think it's better than my usual go-to location... with no rooftops or air conditioners, and no annoying parking lot lights that cause lots of flaring issues until it gets pretty light. Glad you approve! The only down-side is that it's right next to US Hwy 1/64 and it's a little loud for first thing in the morning. Always a trade-off of some kind, you know? Happy Sunday to you, too!

I know what ya mean about being "too loud" for early.......i could send ya some of the ear plugs that my brother uses, working at the airport, on the ramp...that would drown out the sound for ya!!!

@Susan: I'll probably just wear earbuds and groove to some tunes. The other downsides to the Cary location are that I'll probably get in some traffic and also likely lose my rock-star-parking spot by arriving 30 minutes later.
