Sunrise 20080620

Great reason to be an early riser... catch the best of a mini-flamer sunrise overlooking Agua Hedionda Lagoon just before the fog, seen encroaching from the right, rolled in to paint the scene gray (back on June 20, 2008, this shot being a stand-in from my archive because this same viewing location on this 090315 Sunday morning was also painted a cloudy gray).

Nothing speaks as powerfully to life's opportunity as a sunrise, and I am drawn to witness and record them, daily.

@DarkElf: Thanks, DE! That particular morning was really fun. I arrived at the venue late (misjudged how long it would take to get there) and this shot was the first picture I took... which also turned out to be the best one of the morning. In the end, I felt really lucky to get this one.

Wow! You seem to be an expert on color and texture. So much so I couldn't pick one particular shot to comment on. Too bad one has to work, I could lay down and watch the sky and never get up.

@Suz: Thanks for your visit & comment... I really appreciate both! "Expert"? not way...I'm a hacker, Suz... don't know curves or layers. But I have fun with this hobb, and I try hard to post only pics that really show what I saw on a given morning.
Yes, too bad one has to work, especially (me, too) with kids gone. I couldn't agree more about lying down and just watching (and occasionally photographing) the sky ad infinitum.
BTW, I really love your "About Suz" picture. Just wonderful, albeit a bit frustrating. I threw it into CS2 and pulled and tugged at it but still couldn't quite see your face. Well done! ;-)
