Sunrise 20071225

Great reason to be an early riser... catch a beautiful sunrise on Christmas morning, looking over Bogue Sound from the causeway at Atlantic Beach, NC (this an archived shot from back in 2007... only cloudy, rainy skies in the Raleigh area on this last day of Feb '09).

Nothing speaks as powerfully to life's opportunity as a sunrise, and I am drawn to witness and record them, daily.

I really agree with you. Early light is definitely the best light, and you wonderfully prove it with this picture

Oh WOW! This is sooo good. I love the silky look of the water. The horizon is nice and straight. Something so simple makes the photo that much better. The colors are vibrant.
I would really love to see you capture a sunrise when the sky is covered in clouds. I'm curious!!!

Great work. That's some dedication..all of those sunrises.

you have had some great sunset/sunrise catches recently! this one is really good! the water and reflection is really smooth and the tonal range is really nice - great capture!

@Liz: Thanks, Liz! It snowed about a much smaller portion of its butt off here in the Raleigh area... mostly a slushy mess this morning on the roads, but the vistas are pretty, of course. The real down-side, of course, is that the storm's remnants blocked any chance for a sunrise shot, too.... the nerve! ;-) Thanks, again!

Wow! You have so many beautiful sunrise photos...this is my favourite so far! I love pink skies. The colour on the wispy clouds and reflection in the water is amazing :)

@Butterfly Dreamer: You're wearing me out, Emily! ;-) Many sunrise pictures... well, it's the nature of my addiction! But I do have a favorite one (so far), and it's this one.
